The following elements are considered when implementing wall ties:
1. Locate existing wall ties: This can be achieved by using metal detectors.
2. Sample extraction: Holes are drilled to view a section of the wall ties; this can be achieved by using a high intensity boroscope.
3. Further analysis: In certain circumstances advanced level analysis may be required.
4. Report provided: If the results from the analysis provide suggestion that the ties are both/either insufficient the report will include recommendations.
Description of Replacement
• Stainless steel ties are used for replacement of existing wall ties.
• These replacements are considered to be reliable Double Mechanical Precision Pre-Torqued Tie.
These replacements results in the following:
• Rapid continuous fixing to both inner and outer leafs.
• Ensures inner leaf fixes to pre-torqued level before outer leaf engages.
• Pre-torqued setting reliably produces pull out figures of over 2.5 kilo Newtons.
• Independent pull testing of the inner leaf AFTER fixing into the wall allows any or every tie to be pull tested on the inner leaf after initial fixing if required.
The stainless steel ties are manufactured to BS 5750 and installed in accordance with BRE Digests 401 and 329.
