Membership and Benefits of DPA Membership 

The DPA is the Trade Association for the small company, contractor or independent surveyor established in 2012 currently has approximately 75 members Nationwide. 

Representing members, promoting best surveying practice, providing technical assistance and guidance are essentially the principle aim of the Association. We are a non profit making organisation for the benefit of the public and our members only. 

Membership offers a wealth of benefits, as well as ensuring you stand out from your competitors as a technically competent and credible company whose members reports are accepted by all lenders Nationwide.

From those working as Contractors within the industry, to experienced Independent Surveyors or Consultants, the DPA has a range of membership opportunities to suit you.

Contractors

A company, partnership or sole trader can join the DPA who are providing services to the domestic and/or commercial market this being principally Damp-proofing, Timber Preservation, Structural Waterproofing, Invasive Weed Control and Structural Maintenance. 

Independent or Freelance Surveyor 

These are individuals who offer a specialist surveying service but do not undertake any subsequent building works. We currently have 6 full time qualified experienced independent surveyors operating full time in London for a fixed fee starting at £400.00. These surveyors have annual turn overs from £150,000 and it’s a business sector where only a few appropriately qualified surveyors currently work. Its an exceptional opportunity for those located in other major Cities in the UK to develop similar surveying practices with the full support of the DPA.  

Summary of Membership Benefits 

• Membership only costs £500.00 + VAT a year.
• Full technical support for members quotations and reports.
• Use of the DPA Logo for websites and paperwork/reports.
• Automatically qualify as a GPI Guarantee subscriber for free, enabling guarantees to be issued for any indemnity up to £50,000 for only £60.00 + Tax per guarantee. This is a substantial advantage over competitors and proves credibility of your business. 
• Access to our intensive training courses offered in London and Manchester. 
• The opportunity to be trained as a professional surveyor who can conduct analytical based surveying and subsequent reports for a professional fee. There is a massive technical gap in the market for such surveyors.  
• Access to field training for works applications and surveying.

• Opportunities to tender for Housing Association or Council contacts Nationwide. 
• Extensive Email support for 1 year. 

Membership is an outstanding opportunity to develop your current business. Only membership to a recognised trade Association can facility such an expansion.

Membership is open to those experienced or qualified in Damp-proofing, Timber Preservation, Structural Waterproofing, Invasive Weed Control and Structural Maintenance. 

We will conduct appropriate membership checks on limited companies. Sole traders or partnerships will need to supply a trade reference which will be verified.
